Proton has confirmed a major outage affecting Proton Mail, Proton VPN, Lumo, and other platforms and services. Here are the details.

The company says that after its initial investigation and mitigation efforts, all issues are now classified as partial outages. A status update posted at 7:37 p.m. ET says:
“Our efforts to restore impacted services are now yielding results, and as a result are starting to recover for some users. Meanwhile, we are continuing recovery operations.”
The outage was initially confirmed at 6:09 p.m. ET, as reports on Downdetector began to climb. Users on X also noted the issues, prompting the company to address the situation:
