Apple has just released tvOS 27 in public beta, so any Apple TV 4K user can install the software in advance of its fall launch. HomePod 27 is available in public beta too. Here’s what’s new.
If you’re interested in trying Apple TV 4K’s new tvOS 27 software, or HomePod version 27, they’re both available now in public beta.
Apple lets anyone install its forthcoming software releases via the Apple Beta Software Program.
It’s free to sign up at beta.apple.com. And after enrolling your device, you’ll be able to install tvOS 27 on your Apple TV 4K via Settings ⇾ System, and HomePod 27 via the iPhone’s Home app.
Note: tvOS 27 drops support for two Apple TV models, so your hardware may not be supported. HomePod 27 retains support for all existing HomePod models.
tvOS 27 and HomePod 27 currently don’t include one major tentpole feature that’s rumored: Siri AI. That’s because Siri AI will likely require more powerful hardware expected to launch this fall.
Here’s an overview of features Apple has already revealed for these updates, which hopefully will be joined by Siri AI before they launch to all users.
What additional tvOS 27 or HomePod 27 features do you hope debut this fall? Let us know in the comments.
