Samsung has a scheduled event set for July 22, which is where the company is expected to announce the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, Flip 8, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, and Watch 9. That list is exhaustive, and so is the latest leak full of marketing images for the rugged smartwatch.
We’ve seen a number of leaked details regarding all of Samsung’s upcoming phones and watches. The Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, specifically, is rumored to get a couple of upgrades in battery and SoC. We’re looking at an increase to 800mAh, which is a big step from the 590mAh. Battery life is still an unknown, and when throwing in a new Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset, any estimates on how long one charge will last are out the window.
Those details are covered in the latest batch of images released by Evan Blass. These images come right after similar marketing photos were released for the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Fold 8 Ultra, and Flip 8.
As marketing images go, they’re developed to sell devices. These fall in line with close-ups of the redesigned action button, watch bands, and the case of the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. This isn’t an entirely new design language, but it brings a few visual tweaks that seem to make the device look more rugged. Plus, there’s a gorgeous forest green variant, and I’m all for it.
There are two specs that stand out among the previous leaks. Both the display brightness of 5,000 nits and IP69K water and dust resistance are listed, which act as selling points for the do-anything watch. Those are good upgrades, which should make the watch more capable than before.
Again, Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and its other devices in two days. On July 22, the devices should go on sale for what might be a little more money this time around. There are sources that claim the free storage upgrade deal might stick around, in part.
