I’ve been on a spree of trying out new MagSafe wallets that look more like traditional wallets. Vinich’s MagSafe wallet is the latest one I’ve tried. It comes in 15+ colors, looks like a traditional foldable wallet built to sit on the back of a leather iPhone case without clashing with it. It’s designed to look more like an extension of your iPhone case.

The manufacturer clearly wanted to leave no stone unturned when it came to colors. They have options in black, green, brown, and even purple, all with a broken-in, aged look that goes well with a leather case rather than fighting it. They also have countless other colors as well. Vinich also offers Desert Titanium, which goes well with that color iPhone if you opt for a caseless look.
Vinich lists three card slots and says you can realistically fit three to five cards, depending on their thickness. In day-to-day usage, that’s probably a driver’s license, a card or two, and a work access control card. There’s also room to fold a bill or two behind the cards, which I always appreciate in a wallet this size. I try to always keep $20 or so on me
The card compartment is lined with RFID-blocking material, and the interior is lined with microfiber so your cards aren’t rubbing against fabric all day. The magnets are strong enough here. I’ve had stronger ones, but I’ve also had much weaker ones.
First, this is synthetic leather, not actual real leather. It’s scratch-resistant with reinforced stitching, and at this price point, that’s exactly what you’d expect, but if you’re pairing it with a real leather case, you should know going in that the materials aren’t going to be an exact match. Vinich recommends conditioning it every three to six months
Second, it can slowly inch into the frame on wide-angle and macro shots. It sits below the camera on most iPhones, but for close-up photography, you’ll want to pull it off to make sure it’s not covering the lens at all
Finally, it does not work as a stand, even though it looks like it should. The flap is intentionally flexible to keep stress off the magnetic ring, so if you want a wallet that props your iPhone up for a call or video, this isn’t it.
Sub $25, the color range alone makes this worth a look if you’ve been running a nice leather case with a wallet that doesn’t match it. Most MagSafe wallets are built to disappear. This one is built to go with something, and it feels/looks more like a traditional wallet you’d even carry standalone as well. I’d love to see an option with Find Me integration in the future as well.
