Apple is rumored to give MacBook Pro users two very different new models to choose from this fall: an M6 MacBook Pro and an all-new MacBook Ultra. Here’s what’s coming.
This fall, Apple is expected to launch two new Macs that will each appeal to MacBook Pro users:
The MacBook Pro with M6 is expected to be the successor to last fall’s M5 model. It won’t offer higher-end chip options, nor pack any sort of redesign.
But M6 could be an exciting, bigger-than-usual upgrade because it’s the first Mac chip built with a 2nm process. And if you’re a fan of the current MacBook Pro design, with ports galore and remarkable battery life, retaining that design could be a selling point.
If you’re a MacBook Pro user looking for a model that’s more unique, however, the MacBook Ultra might be for you.
Apple’s rumored Ultra model will boast a brand new industrial design that’s thinner and lighter, plus an OLED display, touchscreen, Dynamic Island, and possibly even a cellular option.
MacBook Ultra won’t have the M6. Instead, it will come in M5 Pro and M5 Max variants. Besides the chip though, anyone wanting the cutting-edge of Mac technologies will find it in MacBook Ultra.
Based on Apple’s history of Mac launches, we’ll likely see the M6 MacBook Pro and MacBook Ultra launch in late October. If you need a new MacBook Pro today though, or are on a budget, Apple’s refurbished models or Amazon deals are the way to go.
