Apple is expected to release the iPhone Air 2 in early 2027, with several key improvements over the first model. In a new investor note seen today by 9to5Mac, analyst Jeff Pu has the full rundown on what features and changes to expect from the iPhone Air 2 …
According to Pu, the iPhone Air 2 will feature the same 6.55-inch screen as the current model. However, it will reportedly have a smaller Dynamic Island, which could give users slightly more screen real estate.
Pu also corroborates other rumors and says that the iPhone Air 2 will have two cameras. This will include the same 48MP Main camera as the current model, as well as an all-new 48MP Ultra Wide lens.
Other specs for the iPhone Air 2 highlighted by Pu today include:
For the A20 chip, the new 2-nanometer fabrication technology will enable Apple to offer better performance and efficiency in a similar-sized footprint. WMCM, meanwhile, is a technology that integrates the chip and DRAM at the wafer level for better performance and power consumption.
Apple will reportedly announce the iPhone Air 2 in the first quarter of 2027 alongside the new base model iPhone 18. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Fold are expected to be announced this September.
If you don’t feel like waiting for the iPhone Air 2, you can pick up the current model on Amazon in refurbished condition for over $200 off.
