The Pokemon team visited Apple Park on their way to the Pokemon World Championship starting on August 28 in San Francisco, giving Pikachu a chance to explore and meet the next CEO of Apple.
One of the perks of being CEO of Apple is meeting all kinds of celebrities. While Tim Cook might be partial to Bono, he's also buddies with a certain electric mouse.
A social media post from Apple CEO Tim Cook revealed Pikachu was set loose in Apple Park. Incoming CEO John Ternus and Pokemon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara helped Tim keep an eye on Pikachu as he explored.

While the Pokemon Company didn't share why they were at Apple Park, the antics were cute and even showed a scene where Ishinara sent out the Pokemon Applin using the game Pokemon Go. They could be discussing important business surrounding the future of Pokemon on Apple platforms, or simply giving Pikachu a chance to stretch his legs before heading to San Francisco.
The Pokemon Trading Card Game World Championships are being held from August 28-30. While Apple doesn't have a role in that event, it does host several games on the App Store from Nintendo, including Pokemon Go, Pokemon TCG Pocket, Pokemon Champions, and even Pokemon Sleep.
I wouldn't dig into this fun little social media too much. Tim Cook is known for his trips to Japan and has even met Pikachu before while there to celebrate Apple Ginza opening.
