In addition to its pricey new smart home hubs, UGREEN is getting its smart home ambitions up to speed with a slate of its own hardware, including a speaker, photo frame, and trio of cameras.
We’re looking at one indoor camera and two mountable outdoor cameras: the SynCare Indoor Cam ID500 Pro, SynCare PoE CAM OD600 Pro, and SynCare Battery Cam OD800 Pro. All three offer an 8MP, 4K main camera.
The Indoor Cam offers pan and tilt control for keeping an eye on the action as it moves around your home. The PoE Cam and Battery Cam have a tilt-only 4K camera, but add a secondary 3K, 5MP camera with both pan and tilt.
As you can probably tell from the name, the PoE camera is ready to support power over Ethernet setups. The Battery Cam, meanwhile, is built to rely on a 6W solar power to help keep its 10,000mAh battery topped up.
All three are designed to tap into UGREEN’s smart home hubs for video processing and storage, not just serving as security records, but also identifying and highlighting pleasant moments of interest, like family fun in the yard, or a child’s first steps.
None of that means that security is an oversight, though, and both outdoor cameras offer flashing red/blue lights and audio warnings designed to deter casual thieves.
As for the rest of the company’s smart home hardware, UGREEN’s launching its SynCare Smart Speaker for Uliya — that’s the name of the company’s AI assistant, and you’ll quickly get used to invoking its “Hey Uliya” wake word. It’s got a 5W speaker, and more importantly, empowers you to easily take control of your smart home whenever you’re within range.
Finally, we’ve got a display — although not a typical smart home touch controller, like a Nest Hub. This one’s all about art, using a 13.3-inch E Ink Spectra 6 panel for saturated color — the very same panel we’ve seen in a number of competing products. That means a 1600 x 1200 resolution, and low enough power consumption for its 10,000mAh battery to last up to 6 months on a charge.
UGREEN clearly has some big dreams for its smart home ecosystem, and while this lineup only represents a first effort, it sounds like the company is off to an ambitious start.
