Apple TV today announced that French-language drama “Carême” has been renewed for a second season. Here are the details.
Earlier today, Apple TV announced that “Carême,” starring Benjamin Voisin, has been renewed for a second season, with filming expected to start next week in Paris.
“Carême” debuted in April last year, and ran for 8 episodes with a 7.9/10 average on IMDb. The drama is based on Ian Kelly’s “Carême: The First Celebrity Chef” book, and is currently nominated for an International Emmy Award in the Drama Series category, as well as two Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA) for its original score and main title.
The 54th International Emmy Awards Gala is set to take place on November 23 in New York City, while the 17th annual HMAA will be held a few days earlier, on November 18, in Hollywood.
“Carême” follows the thrilling story of the world’s first celebrity chef, Antonin Carême (Voisin), who rose from humble beginnings in Paris to the height of culinary stardom in Napoleon’s Europe. While he dreams only of becoming the most famous chef in the world, his talent and ambitions attract the attention of renowned and powerful politicians who use him as a spy for France. Determined to escape poverty and fulfill his dream, Carême can choose revenge or he can have it all — women, wealth, fame — but at what cost? His love? His soul? His life?
The platform didn’t announce a release date for the second season.
