Update, 7:37 p.m. ET: Apple says all of the outages have now been resolved, with the exception of Apple TV.
Apple is currently reporting issues affecting Apple TV and subscription purchases, while some users are also running into problems elsewhere across the company’s services. Here are the details.
Apple’s System Status page currently lists Apple TV, App Store, Apple Fitness+, Apple Music, Apple Music Subscriptions, Mac App Store, and Subscription Purchase as experiencing outages or other ongoing issues.
According to Apple, most of the issues began at 4:22 p.m. ET. The company lists the App Store, Apple Music, and Mac App Store as undergoing “routine maintenance, with no expected user impact,” while the Apple TV outage began at 4:43 p.m. ET, with Apple warning that the service “may be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance.”
In our testing, the Apple TV interface failed to load on iOS, although content continued to load and play normally on other devices.
Apple fitness stopped halfway through a fitness session saying it disconnected from my Apple Watch. I tried several times to resume but it does not find my watch, after restarting my watch it still doesn't work so I have given up.
The outages began shortly after apps, including TestFlight, the App Store, and Fitness+, started displaying internal localization strings in place of normal interface text. It is unclear whether that is related to the other issues Apple’s systems are currently facing.
Reports on Downdetector further confirm the issue affecting Apple TV, though they appear to have already peaked and are now trending down, suggesting the outage may be gradually subsiding.
We will monitor the situation and update this post once more information becomes available, or Apple marks the issues as resolved.
