MacRumors reports that in addition to Apple’s expected event on October 13, the company is planning to unveil another batch of new products in the final week of the month. Here are the details.
Over the weekend, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claimed that Apple will, in fact, hold an event on October 13 to announce “its long-awaited smart home hub with a screen, the new HomePod mini and an updated Apple TV.”
Gurman’s report came amid uncertainty over whether Apple would hold an event or announce the new products through videos and press releases, as it has done in the past. Gurman had previously said only that Apple would unveil these products on October 13, without specifying how they would be announced.
In addition to these three products, Apple had also been expected to unveil a new OLED iPad mini and new Macs, including an updated iMac and a touchscreen OLED MacBook Pro, both powered by an M6 chip.
Now, MacRumors says that, “according to multiple sources familiar with the matter,” the company will unveil another round of new products in the final week of October.
The report stops short of saying which products will be announced. It also does not provide a specific date, or say whether Apple will hold a second event or unveil the products through videos and press releases.
That said, these announcements at the end of the month would cap off an unusually busy October for Apple, with the iPhone Duo launching on October 23 and the company also expected to report its quarterly results before the month is out.
