Following today’s announcement of the iPhone Duo, Apple has launched a new set of resources to help developers prepare their apps for the company’s first foldable iPhone. Here are the details.
Earlier today, Apple announced the iPhone Duo at its “Surprise and Shine” event. The device, Apple’s first foldable phone, was unveiled alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, the Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4, and the AirPods 5 with Active Noise Cancellation.
In addition to revealing the details of the iPhone Duo to the general public and sharing the device’s assets on its Design Resources portal, Apple also launched a new page with several resources to help developers prepare their apps for the new foldable device.
That includes two iPhone Duo Group Labs, scheduled for September 16 and 17, Q&As on Photos & Camera, SwiftUI, and UIKit, with two sessions each running at different times on September 23.
Additionally, there will be iPhone Duo Workshops around the world, which Apple says will offer hands-on sessions where developers can optimize their apps and “explore resizability for all screen sizes.” Those will begin later this month.
The “Get ready for iPhone Duo” page also lists upcoming tools and documentation, including Xcode 27.1 beta, “Designing for iPhone Duo,” and “Preparing your app for iPhone Duo.”
