The latest leaks claim to have discovered the name and a few key specifications about Motorola’s upcoming wide Razr foldable.
A post by Android Headlines alleges several important details about Motorola’s wide foldable, which could be called the « Razr Flex. » Right out of the gate, rumors suggest the wide Razr could feature a 6.9-inch OLED inner screen with up to a 165Hz refresh rate, paired with a 4.9-inch cover display. Interestingly, the device might not snag a flagship-quality chip.
These early rumors purport that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 SoC could power the foldable. This chip was revealed in November 2025. It’s a midrange chip designed to grant such devices « flagship-level strength, » but at an affordable price. Similar to previous rumors, the « Razr Flex » could feature two cameras on its rear panel. The publication claims these could be dual 50MP lenses (main and ultra-wide) with up to « 30x digital zoom » on the main lens.
The leak alleges the wide foldable could feature a 5,000mAh battery with 25W Qi2 wireless charging. Rumors conclude by stating the device could measure 110 x 149 x 5.8mm (unfolded) and 110 x 76 x 12.6mm (folded). What’s more, this phone could see a « mid-December » launch in 2026 with PANTONE Coriander and Dark Botanical Garden colorways.
Moto’s going for iconic
Things are advancing pretty quickly with Motorola’s wide foldable rumors. One thing that I don’t like too much is the chip. If true, settling for this midrange chip is a disappointment for me. For me, looking at a phone like this, I’d expect one of the two flagships Qualcomm’s launched. I know Moto’s going all in for the Signature 27, but this wide foldable, whatever it’s going to be called, deserves a little more than this.
Apple launched its iPhone Duo earlier this month, and Motorola was quick to start talking about what it’s working on. We’ve been hearing rumors about a wider Razr Fold for a while now, and a few alleged sketches of this device have appeared online. The device will seemingly feature a design we’re familiar with: a pocketable form factor with rounded corners. However, what Motorola showed off on Instagram got us thinking even more.
Shrouded in darkness, the device briefly appeared in a model’s hand, unfolded, then folded. It was difficult to make out any defining features; however, its protruding camera bar was one such notable aspect. Other rumors suggest Motorola could feature a « bezel-less » display for its cover screen and an « easy open profile. » Current rumors paint an interesting picture: the « Razr Flex » could be smaller than the competition.
Its displays are a bit smaller than the likes of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8. These rumors also suggest Motorola’s will be thicker and « slightly heavier, » too. We’ll have to wait and see for sure.
