Friday is iPhone Duo launch day, and there are a lot of eager customers hoping to walk into an Apple Store and get one after a messy pre-order launch. In a new interview with TechRadar, Apple marketing SVP Greg Joswiak offered insight into demand and in-store availability for the first foldable iPhone.
On in-store availability, Joswiak said: “You know, we didn’t ship them all away during the pre-order, we have them available at the stores, we’re excited.” … “I’m sure we’ll have some happy customers.”
“Well, I think you saw the pre-order demand last week was extraordinary,” Joswiak added. “People got it. They understood what we were doing.”
In a statement to 9to5Mac earlier this week, Apple confirmed that stores would have “limited” iPhone Duo availability for walk-in customers in the countries listed below. Joz’s comments add further confirmation that some customers will be happy tomorrow.
Joswiak will be at Apple’s Fifth Avenue flagship store in New York for tomorrow’s iPhone Duo launch. He’ll likely be joined by other Apple executives, including CEO John Ternus.
