After releasing a carrier settings update last week to address cellular issues affecting some iPhone 18 Pro Max users on AT&T, Apple is now rolling out a different carrier bundle update for devices running the iOS 27.2 beta. Here are the details.
Last Friday, Apple confirmed to 9to5Mac that a small number of iPhone 18 Pro Max users on AT&T were experiencing an issue that could cause their devices to lose cellular service and become unable to make calls.
Apple said iOS 27.0.1, alongside a new carrier settings update, was meant to prevent the issue from affecting additional devices. However, iPhones that had already lost service would still require a hardware replacement.
Tonight, as spotted by Aaron Perris on X, Apple began rolling out another carrier bundle update for iPhone 18 Pro Max users on AT&T, this time specifically for devices running the iOS 27.2 beta.
Apple has just released an emergency carrier bundle update for AT&T users using an iPhone 18 Pro Max on 27.2 beta.Version 72.0.3 up from 72.0.2This comes after Apple released 72.1 for iOS 27.0 users last week
Reports of the problem first surfaced in late September, when some iPhone 18 Pro Max users on AT&T found that their devices had suddenly lost access to calls, texts, and cellular data, instead displaying “SOS” in the status bar.
Notably, the issue has only affected the iPhone 18 Pro Max, which uses a Qualcomm modem in the United States. The iPhone 18 Pro, which uses Apple’s C2 modem, has not been affected.
Apple’s carrier settings update released last week brought AT&T users on iOS 27.0 to version 72.1. However, users running the iOS 27.2 beta remained on the older 72.0.2 carrier bundle.
Tonight’s release reportedly bumps those devices to carrier bundle version 72.0.3, likely extending Apple’s AT&T carrier changes to iPhone 18 Pro Max users who are testing the iOS 27.2 beta.
