Android XR glasses officially get a December release date [Video]

Following a pre-order date announcement earlier this week, Google’s other Android XR launch partner has now confirmed a December release date for this first batch of glasses.

Earlier this week, Warby Parker revealed that its first Android XR glasses will go up for pre-order next week on November 12, also reiterating the “Intelligent Eyewear” branding that Google and Samsung are using for these devices.

Following up on that, the other design partner has confirmed a release date for its first Android XR glasses.

Gentle Monster posted a teaser on Twitter/X for a short film starring Joaquin Phoenix that is “a cinematic journey between reality and dream.” The full film will be released in “mid-November,” almost surely on that November 12 date, but that’s not the interesting part here – and that’s saying something, because interesting is more definitely a fitting description of the video.

Rather, it’s the casual mention of the release date for Gentle Monster’s Android XR glasses. Well, release window. It’s been rumored, but this is the official confirmation that the first Android XR glasses are getting a December 2026 release date. Better late than never, though it’s certainly interesting to see a product launch so late in the year.

Warby Parker hasn’t mentioned a December release date yet, but it stands to reason we’ll see the same launch window.

Are you looking forward to the first Android XR glasses?
