According to a report published earlier this month, the second season of Apple TV’s acclaimed sci-fi drama ‘Pluribus’ is scheduled to begin filming tomorrow, October 31, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Here’s what we know.
When Apple TV first announced Vince Gilligan’s new series starring Rhea Seehorn (Better Call Saul), the company was confident enough in the project to order two seasons right out of the gate.
‘Pluribus’ went on to become Apple TV’s most-watched series ever, while also earning widespread critical acclaim and an impressive collection of awards.
Earlier this year, the show won six Emmys, including Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for Seehorn and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series for Gilligan. Seehorn also took home a Golden Globe.
Now, almost exactly one year after the premiere of the show’s first season, filming for its second season is about to start, according to a Production List report published earlier this month.
“Pluribus Season 2 is currently in pre-production with filming scheduled to begin in Albuquerque, New Mexico on October 31, 2026. That gives working professionals in New Mexico and beyond a meaningful window to position themselves, and given Vince Gilligan’s long track record of hiring local and building tight, loyal crew families, this is one to pursue early rather than wait on.”
Back in September, Gilligan revealed that the writers had already mapped out the entire second season and completed the first two scripts, with the remaining episodes in various stages of development. At the time, he also said filming was expected to begin in late October or early November.
As of right now, Apple has yet to announce a premiere date or even a release window for the second season.
If you’re not familiar with ‘Pluribus,’ here’s Apple’s (rather short) official synopsis:
“Pluribus” is a genre-bending original in which the most miserable person on Earth must save the world from happiness.
Apple TV is available for $14.99 per month or as part of the Apple One bundle. It features hit TV shows and movies like Ted Lasso, Severance, The Studio, The Morning Show, Shrinking, and Silo.
