I’m on my way home from Samsung’s big Galaxy Unpacked event and I’ve moved into the new Galaxy Z Fold 8. So, ask me anything!
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is the biggest deal in Samsung’s foldables in quite a while. The Galaxy Z Fold 7’s thin form factor was important, yes, and the Galaxy Z TriFold was exciting, but neither were such a clear shift in the company’s direction.
At this point, I’ve fully moved into a Galaxy Z Fold 8 review unit, and I’m still in this state of mixed feelings. The short and stout outer display feels totally new in my hand, and I’m finding myself using this phone opened up more than I did on my Fold 7.
Early impressions are good, though. I think there are a lot of usability and creature comfort adjustments I’ll need to figure out over the coming days, but the hardware is nice, the screens are stunning – I can already tell this is a massive upgrade over past generations, inside and out –, and the cameras actually seem decent, though I already miss my telephoto lens.
So, as I embark on my journey back across the pond (and look forward to the inevitable airport delays that come with this time of year), let’s talk! Hit up the comments below with any questions you have about the Galaxy Z Fold 8, and I’ll get back as soon as I can.
