If you’ve watched anything on Apple TV for the past few weeks, you certainly saw the trailer (or at least the first few seconds of it) for “Matchbox The Movie.”

Starring John Cena (Heads of State), Jessica Biel (The Illusionist), Arturo Castro (Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice), Sam Richardson (Veep), and Corey Stoll (Midnight in Paris), among others, “Matchbox The Movie” held a special screening in Mexico City earlier this month, ahead of its world premiere on October 5.

“Matchbox The Movie” adds to Apple TV’s ever-growing catalog of action movies, including “The Gorge,” “Wolfs,” “Ghosted,” “The Family Plan,” and, more recently, “Mayday.”

Here’s Apple TV’s synopsis for “Matchbox The Movie”:

Inspired by the iconic Mattel toys, “Matchbox The Movie” is an action-packed, globe-trotting adventure about a group of friends since childhood who have their lives upended when undercover CIA agent Sean (John Cena), their long-absent former leader, returns to their small town and unwittingly gets them embroiled in a frantic international pursuit to save the world.

Apple TV unveiled the trailer for “Matchbox The Movie” earlier this year at the 2026 San Diego Comic-Con, and you can watch it below:
