‘Fitbit Edge’ leaks as Google’s next fitness tracker with ‘Apps’ & ‘Notifications’

Following an accidental marketing leak in August and FCC listing last month, retail listings for the “Fitbit Edge” have now emerged.

According to retail assets shared by Android Headlines, Google is making a new wearable called the “Fitbit Edge.”

There is a bulbous screen that appears to go much closer to the perimeter than that of any past Fitbit tracker. We see what is essentially a Pixel Watch face that’s been adjusted for this display shape. The time and date are joined by complications for heart rate, step count, and starting a workout.

On the back, we see the band removal mechanism at the top and bottom, and a sensor stack that looks pretty similar to the Fitbit Air. Google might even use the same magnetic charger.

I wonder how it works when using alongside a Pixel Watch. I have a Pixel Watch 1 that I use when I workout and sleep but then a Pixel Watch 3 that I use during the day. It's annoying to switch between the two, and I wish they allowed multi-device like they do for the Pixel Watch and the Fitbit Air. If they allow multi-device for this too I could see myself switching my Pixel Watch 1 for this.

The left and right sides are home to metal strips that are presumably for ECG readings. It very much follows the design formula of the Fitbit Charge 6.

The Pixel Watch Active Band-esque straps and casings are available in Canyon, Obsidian, and Olive, similar to the Pixel 11 Pro.

The Fitbit Edge specs we have today come from a comparison table with the Fitbit Air and Pixel Watch 5. “Connectivity” notes Bluetooth but not Wi-Fi and — compared to the Fitbit Air — Notifications.

Listed “Apps” include “Google Maps, Media and music controls & Find My Phone.” Battery comes in at “Up to 7 days,” with support for “Android & iOS.”
