The first granular updates to Apple's milestone operating system releases have arrived, with 27.0.1 updates now here for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and visionOS.
Apple released its major yearly operating system revision on September 14, bringing iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS to the 27 generation. Two weeks later, Apple's released the first small update to the public.
The granular update is a minor version change, and is quite typical for Apple to release shortly after the main releases.
Apple also released granular updates to its earlier operating systems, too.
At this early stage, it is unclear exactly what has changed with each operating system. However, while a granular release doesn't tend to have major feature changes, they usually include bug fixes and performance improvements for issues that emerge after launch.
This will probably include fixes for things like Neural Engine timeouts and Face ID kernel panics. For the latter, Apple confirmed a software update will fix the issue.
