Lenovo’s first Googlebook devices have been leaked several times over the past few weeks. From what we’ve seen so far, we know Lenovo is working on at least three Googlebooks: conventional laptops in two sizes, plus a two-in-one tablet device with a detachable keyboard. Today, we’ve learned that the latter will come with a name we’re used to from some of Lenovo’s previous two-in-ones.
As spotted by Chrome Unboxed, the name Lenovo Googlebook Duet m has appeared in the Bluetooth SIG database. Lenovo’s previously used the Duet name with its ChromeOS-based tablets.
That m at the end of the Googlebook name is apparently not a typo, but rather a reference to the chipset powering the device, which is being supplied by MediaTek. Specifically, it’ll reportedly feature the Kompanio Ultra 910, though that chipset may be rebadged under the Dimensity brand for this release.
The Googlebook Duet m will come with a 13″ display, according to available information. That makes it less portable than Lenovo’s last Chromebook Duet, which came with an 11″ screen. The larger display will make it more suitable for in-depth work, though, which seems to be a primary focus for Googlebooks on the whole.
We’ve seen plenty of renders of Lenovo’s upcoming Googlebooks by now, as well as real-life photos of the company’s Googlebook-branded mouse.
The first Googlebook devices are slated to hit the market later this year. It’s been rumored that we could learn more about the new Android-powered laptops at a dedicated Googlebook event that could be announced in the coming weeks.
