Razer Diamondback Ambidextrous Gaming Mouse review

Most computer mice come in right-handed designs that can be difficult for lefties to hold. Left-handed mice do exist, of course, but they're more of a niche product. Ambidextrous designs are a nice compromise because they can be used by people who favor either hand. Of course, even lefty or ambidextrous PC gamers don't just want a mouse they can hold; it needs to be good for gaming too.

Enter the Razer Diamondback. The Diamondback was one of Razer's first gaming mice all the way back in 2004. Razer has since updated its design a few times over the few years, with the 2015 edition launching only weeks ago. The new Razer Diamondback sports Chroma full-spectrum lighting, an amazing 16,000 DPI sensor, and of course, an ambidextrous design. Read on for our detailed review with video!

The Top Xbox 360 games we want to play on Xbox One

Microsoft has finally announced the first 104 Xbox 360 games that will be backwards compatible on Xbox One. While that sounds like a lot of games, it's really only a drop in the bucket compared to the Xbox 360's overall library of over 1,000 titles. As such, many popular and fan-requested titles naturally won't be backwards compatible when the feature launches on November 12th. In fact, many of the top 20 most-requested games are not on the launch list!

Don't despair, though, Xbox One owners. We know that Microsoft will make more games backwards compatible in the future. Still, the uncertainty of which Xbox 360 titles will be playable on the Xbox One haunts some of us to our very cores. So read on to find out which games each member of the Windows Central staff most wants to become backwards compatible!

Steam Spotlight – The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky

Steam Spotlight has been on a nice long vacation as of late, but now it's back. And what better Steam game to return with than one from Japanese developer Nihon Falcom – makers of the charming Gurumin: A Monstrous Adventure and the classic action-RPG Ys: The Ark of Napishtim?

XSEED Games frequently teams up to bring Falcom games to English audiences. Last year, they released the popular Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky – First Chapter on Steam. And this year, Trails in the Sky – Second Chapter has finally made it to North America on both Steam/GOG and PSP/Vita. An old-school JRPG with amazing world-building and fantastic writing, the Trails in the Sky games are instant classics. Read on for our detailed impressions and video!

Prima Halo 5 Collector’s Edition Guide: In-depth review

Halo 5: Guardians is probably the biggest Xbox One game of the year. Microsoft's Halo series has been beloved ever since the first game debuted on the original Xbox console way back in 2001. Along with each new game in the mainline series comes a variety of ancillary products for fans to consume, including books, comics, toys, controllers, and even movies and TV series. This one is no different – we've already reviewed the Halo 5 Limited Edition controllers, in fact.

Another supplement each big Halo game receives is a strategy guide from Prima Games. This time, two guides are available: a standard softcover edition and a hardcover Collector's Edition. Both versions include a free digital guide, but the hardcover guide packs some enticing bonuses as well. Read on for our full review of both guides and a look at the Collector's Edition physical and in-game bonuses!

Nyko Type Pad for Xbox One review

Although the Xbox 360 has long enjoyed a dedicated keyboard peripheral from Microsoft, the Xbox One has gone two years without such a privilege. Owners of the newer system have had to type with standard USB keyboards or worse: the default controller. Ignoring the shoddy no-brand keyboard add-ons that popped up a while back, Nyko has just released the first proper keyboard accessory. But Microsoft's official Chatpad looms only a few weeks away.

The Nyko Type Pad is a small wireless keyboard that plugs into the Xbox One controller. It features a unique analog nub for navigation, dedicated shortcut buttons, and glow-in-the-dark keys. The Type Pad works with controllers featuring the standard headset jack and those without, and it still allows headsets to be used. But does this accessory have what it takes to compete against Microsoft's official keyboard? Read our detailed review with video to find out!

Halo 5 Guide: How to create and join a Spartan Company

Halo 5: Guardians, the latest entry in Microsoft and 343's long-running sci-fi first-person shooter series has finally arrived on Xbox One. The new Halo features a campaign with 4-player online co-op (though sadly no split-screen) and two extensive online multiplayer modes: Arena and Warzone. The large-scale Warzone and new REQ pack unlocking system will keep competitive Halo fans busy for years to come.

You'd expect a large-scale competitive game like Halo 5 to offer clan support, and Halo 5 does just that in the form of Spartan Companies. Unfortunately, Spartan Companies aren't very well integrated into the game itself – you might not have even figured out how to create or join one. Luckily your pals at Windows Central not only have a Spartan Company, but we'll also tell you how to join or create your own.

Halo 5: Guardians review

Halo 5 maintains the series' standard as an explosive first-person shooter with a strong campaign and multiplayer modes.

Windows Central Choice Award

In 2014, the Xbox One saw its first true Halo title in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. We won't count the mobile port Spartan Assault because WHO CARES. Unfortunately, Master Chief Collection suffered from severe multiplayer issues and countless bugs, tarnishing the series' reputation on Xbox One before an original entry for Microsoft's new console could even be produced.

At last, Halo 5: Guardians has arrived exclusively on Xbox One, courtesy of 343 Studios and Microsoft. Guardians has a lot to prove. Can it capture the fans who felt let down by Halo 4, and can it make things up to gamers who suffered through Master Chief Collection's rocky launch period? Most importantly, does Halo 5 recapture the magic that helped Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 shape the evolution of first-person shooters on consoles for years to come? Read our detailed review to find out!
